City Clinic CSR donates to Anglican Diocese of Mauritius

Dr Patrick Joseph Chui Wan Cheong GOSK , Chairman of City Clinic Group  along with his wife Mrs Jacqueline Chui Wan Cheong, and Dr Audrey Patricia Chui Wan Cheong OSK,  Director City Clinic Group and Dr Michael Chong Wan Cheong Ah Tow CSK, Administrative Manager City Clinic Group graced the Bishop’s House to express their appreciation for the work of the Anglican Church, being done for the poor and needy under the leadership of His Grace Ian Ernest, Bishop of Mauritius and Archbishop of the Indian Ocean.

As a token of that appreciation the Chairman Dr.Patrick Joseph Chui Wan Cheong presented a cheque to Archbishop Ian Ernest. In his speech he recognised the work that the Anglican Church was doing in helping the poor and the needy, by reaching out to them in various ways. He said that it was gratifying to see the Anglican Church involved not only in Mauritius but also in Rodrigues where there is a need to help the poor and helpless. See full speech here.

The President of Anglicare Mrs.Natalie Poottaren welcomed the guests and said that it was a pleasure to have the City Clinic Group in their midst. The Archbishop addressed the esteemed guests from City Clinic and extolled the pioneering work that Dr.Cheong had done in Mauritius. He recalled the yeomen service that was done in the past and is continuing to be done to the poor through the City Clinic Group. He also said that Dr.Cheong has been and will be an inspiration to all who follow Christ’s example of caring for the poor. He expressed gratitude to the Chairman and the Group for the generous gift that the City Clinic Group presented to the Anglican Diocese. The Archbishop also presented the Chairman with the book  ‘A history of the Anglican Diocese of Mauritius’.

 

The Board of Commissioners of the Anglican Diocese of Mauritius and the staff of the Diocesan Church House were also present at the event. A cake was cut to celebrate the event and light snacks and tea were served as well.
